With the Rittal Portable Data Center (RPDC) Rittal at Cebit an e  play computer center with a PUE (Power Usage effective) presented by less than 1.2.

The mobile facility is housed within a very large and robust 20-foot container. It has space for up to seven racks equipped with 329 units and is level with a power and emergency power supply and a fire protection system. The RPDC has a built-direct free cooling to reduce energy expenditure according to the manufacturer for air conditioning by up to 40% compared to conventional air conditioning equipment for data centers. In the last six months, Rittal has used the portable data center is already in more than ten projects.

The RPDC can be configured individually: Depending on customer needs to install their own racks and equipment can or need to recover only with their servers. The basic version already includes a built-in power distribution, cable bulkhead, an access control system and an efficient air-conditioning. The latter is available up to a cooling power of 20 kW with a 2 +1 redundancy. In the performance classes 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. kW direct ecofriendly free cooling can be equipped, which uses the filtered outside air to cool the data center.

The Rittal Portable Data Center is a self-sufficient module that can be used in a number of scenarios: As an interim data center during training or conversions, where space is limited around on listed buildings or the extension of capacity constraints. Even modern major computing rely on the container modules, since they can be scaled with the computing capacity on demand, which increases the workload. The RPDC is 3 meters wide, with particularly spacious interior and offers operating and servicing enough space. Nevertheless, it can be easily shipped via truck, ship or airplane.

Since the current 20-foot container dimensions are generally not sufficiently robust for sensitive IT equipment, offers the RPDC strengthened hull with F30-fire and burglary protection up to resistance class 3 The access system can be optionally equipped with a code reader, an electronic lock or a key combination lock.
